This place is like home.  Been coming here for almost 30 years.  Started with happy hour with coworkers.  To dinners with the kids to a quick bite with the girls.  Today though I'm solo.  Usually solo I sit on the non bar side.  But the bar side has booths. And a juke box.  Even at this slow hour it's a good 5 people.  It can get crowded though in the late nights.  The food is ok.  Decent.  The Sri is are ok.  A lot of ice in my White Russian today and the first one was stronger.   A trick I guess most bartenders play.  I started coming here when Elano worked here.  Still a lot of the same old faces.  This is your neighborhood spot.  It's an icon of Mexican restaurants in Dena.

Parking is significantly limited.  You have the movie theater down the street walking distance.  Bathrooms are clean.

Liquor store next door. Not too far from centralized downtown Pasadena.

You say "let's go to Amigos" everyone will already know what your talking about.

I'm actually not sure why the average rating for this place is so low.  This is one of my preferred lunch options close to work.

-Lunch Special - Steak Torta:  Yum!  This is my go to for lunch, it's filling, comes with a humungo side of fries, and it's under $10!  What's not to love?
-Lunch Special - Bacon Cheeseburger:  The bacon is thick-cut and EXTRA crispy, the way I like it!  The cheese is probably Monterey jack?  It's white but definitely not mozzarella.  The meat patty is tasty and seems homemade.
-Lunch Special - BLT:  My co-worker got this and it looked GOOD but it's also a BLT.  As long as you have good bacon, you can't screw it up.
-Fish:  It's one of the healthier dishes, I think it's a pan fried or grilled white fish with a side of rice and boiled vegetables.  It also comes with a butter sauce on the side.  My co-worker gets this dish every time we go.
-Beef enchiladas:  ...oh...wow...This was amazing!  The shredded beef was super tasty and the corn tortilla seemed a bit different, definitely a lot tastier than tortillas in other enchiladas I've had.
-Chile Relleno:  This was okay, it was actually better the next day reheated.
-Chicken:  Boyfriend ordered a sautéed chicken dish that had cheese melted into it.  SKIP!!!  I wish I remembered the name because it was NOT tasty.  Bf was definitely jealous of my enchiladas haha

ps...please note, I do enjoy a bit of gristle in my meat.

5 for service and food is a 3

Chicken tortilla soup and vegetarian burrito.  Free salsa and chips to start with perfect amount of spicy heat in the salsa.

The cup of soup is a BIG bowl and the veggie burrito is the size of my head.  The soup was the best part of the meal.  Nice flavour and lots of chicken with corn and veggies.  The veggie burrito was a lot of carrots with a few strips of green pepper and onion and chayote or some other kind of squash ?  Giant portions and ok but not great flavours IMHO.

Dropped in after work for a late night go to to for  margaritas, chips y salsa and Wi-Fi music loads via  AMI. Just finished my 3rd margarita on the rocks con Sal. Delicioso y fuerte.  Tiempo Salud amigos y cabrones.

My man and I had the pleasure of eating here on Saturday while enjoying our stay in Pasadena. He ordered a wet burrito (carne asada w/ a request of rice inside the burrito) and I ordered 2 tacos (1 carnitas, and 1 chicken) w/ rice and beans on my plate (requested onion and cilantro in my tacos, they don't come in the taco unless asked). The waiter that took our order was really polite and I liked the fact that he came around to make sure all was good w/ our order and just overall a very attentive employee at this establishment, wish I remembered his name, but I don't. My man and I truly and genuinely enjoyed our meals. The tacos were delicious! and the burrito was truly delicious as well (You know it's good when your man's eyes start rolling to the back of his head) #Foodgasm lol Next time we find ourselves in Pasadena we'll definitely stop by here for a bite.
